Above all else, Kathy Petrino is a very prolific traveler who has a goal; to see as much of the planet is possible while she’s still here. Thankfully for all travelers, she is also a generous spirit, which is why she writes about her travels. She would like others to enjoy what she has enjoyed and to learn from her experience. She believes it’s a great idea to tell others, to make sure the destination thrives, so that she can visit over and over again.
One of Kathy Petrino’s favorite travel destinations is the Coachella Valley in Southern California, located in the middle of California’s Low Desert. She is well aware that the area isn’t quite as popular as it was when the Rat Pack ruled the area in the 1950s and 1960s, but there is still much to like about the place. Kathy Petrino likes to write about the nostalgic vibe the area gives off; one that sends visitors back to the time last Century, when Frank, Dean and Sammy ruled Palm Springs, the area at the center of the region and the most popular destination in the Coachella Valley. There are many fully-restored hotels and rental homes that will take you back to the post-War 20th Century. There also are many festivals in the area, like the Coachella Music Festival, and the area is paradise for hikers and rock climbers.
